ALLENTOWN, Pa. – An Allentown center faculty is getting one thing new to wrestle with.
South Mountain Center Faculty obtained a $7,000 donation Thursday to purchase new wrestling mats.
The funding was spearheaded by State Rep. Peter Schweyer.
Juan Enriquez, South Mountain’s assistant principal and wrestling coach, stated the mats the college had been utilizing have been about 40 years outdated.
He stated getting them changed was lengthy overdue.
“That is one thing the children deserved 12 months after 12 months. They commit themselves to a program and a sport they by no means knew about earlier than they got here right here and I am glad it befell and it is going to profit South Mountain for a few years to come back,” Enriquez stated.
Enriquez stated a few of the cash will go towards new wrestling footwear and different gear.
