Authorities in Bethlehem arrest girl accused of kidnapping daughter

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A neighborhood on Bethlehem’s west aspect was sealed off as police and U.S. Marshals moved in to serve an arrest warrant to a girl who allegedly kidnapped her daughter.

Early Friday afternoon, authorities descended on the 600 block of Martins Lane, close to Spring Road.

Officers had been there to serve a warrant to 43-year-old Candelita Mitchell-Kebe. She was wished by Mount Pocono police on fees of kidnapping and interfering with custody of a kid.

Round 1 p.m., Mitchell Kebe’s daughter was eliminated safely by officers. However the woman’s mom and one other girl had been believed to nonetheless be inside.

Authorities say threats had been directed at officers from inside the house.

Negotiations then started with the fugitive and one other girl who was believed to have made the threats. Each ladies finally surrendered.

The incident lasted into the early night.

U.S. Marshals thanked the Bethlehem Police Division and the tactical staff for his or her help, and say the incident couldn’t have been resolved with out them.
