Berks residence collapses months after being hit by tractor-trailer

MAXATAWNY TWP., Pa. – A Berks County residence recognized for being hit by vehicles and a tractor-trailer has been decreased to rubble.

Police say the wall of the home at Route 222 and Church Street in Maxatawny Township collapsed in a single day Thursday. The collapse occurred almost 4 months after a tractor-trailer crashed into it.

The home was condemned following the November crash.

Crews labored all through the morning hours to demolish the remainder of the home.

The berks County Division of Emergency Providers put a lane restriction in place Thursday morning on Route 222 NB whereas the constructing was being taken down.
