Former Temple U enterprise dean sentenced in rankings scandal

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. | A former dean of Temple College’s enterprise faculty has been sentenced to a 12 months and two months in jail in a scheme to falsely increase the college’s rankings.

Moshe Porat requested a federal choose Friday to spare him a jail time period so he might look after his ailing spouse.

However, the choose cited Porat’s lack of regret and cited his obsession with driving the Fox Faculty of Enterprise to the highest spot as “maniacal.” Porat was convicted in November of federal conspiracy and wire fraud expenses.

Porat submitted false info to U.S. Information & World Report that boosted the college’s on-line MBA program to the highest rank for 4 years.
