Greater than 20 hearth firms reply to Berks County barn hearth

LONGSWAMP TWP., Pa. — Greater than 20 hearth firms responded to an enormous barn hearth at a Berks County farm.

Pictures from the scene confirmed heavy smoke pouring from a barn within the 200 block of Meadow Drive in Longswamp Township.

The smoke from the barn hearth might be seen from miles away early Sunday night. When hearth crews arrived, flames had been coming by the roof.

“It is a fairly devastating loss for the farming group and for this farm,” stated Topton Hearth Firm Chief Jason Robinson.

Robinson stated all animals within the barn had been rescued. He is not conscious of any accidents.
