Hearth destroys barn in Schuylkill County

RINGTOWN, Pa. – Flames destroyed a barn and broken a number of outbuildings at a well known farm in Schuylkill County Monday morning.

Firefighters have been referred to as to the 400 block of Aristes Street in Union Township simply earlier than 9:30 a.m. for a reported barn hearth on the Rumbel Farm.

“It was already on the bottom once we obtained right here,” Ringtown Valley Hearth Chief Joseph Gilbert mentioned. “That outbuilding was burning, that outbuilding was burning, this outbuilding was burning, and the home was beginning to smolder.”

Firefighters prioritized defending the home once they first arrived, Gilbert mentioned.

Gilbert mentioned nobody was damage within the blaze. He mentioned the barn was used for the storage of feed and farming implements, so no animals have been damage both.







A second alarm was struck for manpower, in addition to a tanker activity pressure, bringing tankers from throughout Schuylkill, Northumberland, and Columbia counties to the scene, together with models as far-off as Elysburg. In whole, three outbuildings have been broken, Gilbert mentioned, along with the barn.

Rumbel’s Farm is residence to a roadside produce stand, and the farm is a mainstay at Shenandoah’s downtown farmers market.
