PennDOT invitations public to touch upon I-78 Lenhartsville Bridge substitute venture

GREENWICH TWP., Pa. – Members of the group are invited to attend an in-person listening to in regards to the Lenhartsville Bridge Substitute Mission in Berks County.

In keeping with the Pennsylvania Division of Transportation (PennDOT), the I-78 Lenhartsville Bridge Substitute Mission is a candidate for bridge tolling.

The venture is thru the PennDOT Pathways Program, which seeks to establish potential various funding options for transportation within the state, PennDOT experiences.

PennDOT says tolls collected could be used for the substitute bridges’ development, upkeep and operation.

PennDOT experiences that the I-78 Lenhartsville Bridge, which crosses Maiden Creek in Greenwich Township, is growing old and doesn’t meet present design requirements.

The proposed venture entails changing the prevailing bridge to handle the poor structural situation, and to widen it to accommodate acceleration and deceleration lanes and full inside and outdoors shoulders in every path.

PennDOT will pursue solely westbound tolling at this bridge.

A public listening to is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Might 19 at Kempton Neighborhood Middle, 83 Neighborhood Middle Drive.

An open home show on the venture will start at 3:30 p.m. with public testimony beginning at 4:30 p.m.
